You know that you won't die from the little bit of pesticides that let you feel your best inside your tiny apartment, where you're nesting like a mocking bird. Hydroplaning eyeballs and a fly bomber jacket aren't quite enough to justify gritty life in bed stuy, so you stitch with a dime store crochet kit that you bought at the corner bodega. You stay inside because your heart is beating twice as fast at every awkward eye contact like each new frown's a cataract that's growing a deposit in your sight. But you won't go back to the treehouse that you came from you'll never go back to... You don't know how little it all means to be involved in the scene. 'Use 'em like a pill, put the paper on the bill. 'Credit card apathy is growing like a river liner out of me,' you say it so sweetly. So subtly. Indigestible. I know something's coming I know something's coming I know i know i know i know i know... Did you think you deserved it? Did you think you could stop it? With your aching heart? and with your shaking hands? With your telephone friends? By getting lost in art? You're a bleeding heart! You're a bleeding heart! PTSD and a new personality Brooklyn Behemoth, be swallowed up by the sea. Everywhere a cancer, and everyone a dancer to a tune you can't follow and a pill you can't swallow. You're a bleeding heart. Ignoring upturned hands.

Dice Game 02:04
Come on in, say you love me as if you know what it means. Like two babies, no extremes, say you love me. And try and keep me like an heirloom your mother wanted you to have. We'll get tattoos on our wedding day so that our skin decomposes at the same rate. But look at the coward in my eyes, beware when he begins to load his pipe and tell his lies "Outside we'll never win. Let's get fucked up by forever fill our days with easy sin and disconnect the phone lines wrap our heads with tin!" He'll peer into your deepest with a weak and grimming grin: it's an easy solution to forget the retribution descend into this madness and you can be happy too. Come on in, sing the nighttime songs, and we'll make it to today. Stack a hundred thousand more, cross our fingers. People make it better but the world can be mean. Or maybe it's the other way; we're all in between. Come on in, say you love me, say you love me.

War Hero 04:16
You took a bullet straight through the chest plate. Jacket did nothing to help. Hit for a cause you only half believed in, Falling through the beehive, jumping out of planes. They sent you home, innoculate, bereaved sin, Let loose with secrets that were too big to keep, So you made a beeline for New York City, found out it's a hard place to sleep. They let you out just in time to spew out your stomach, your brother left dead in the field. Your wife let the wheel go, while she was driving, marines taught you not to feel real. When the cancer came up it was boiling oil, too late for you to get help you said but I don't believe you. Why risk the chemo if you always said it was better to go out with a bang a bang a bang! They let you out just in time to spew out your stomach, your brother left dead in the field. Your wife let the wheel go, while she was driving, marines taught you not to feel real to feel that Loneliness a bullet that never leaves a clean hole, but you taught them how to beg. Remembering the alleys, so drunk in Brooklyn! We stumbled from the beer hall to the street, and everyone we meet gets the sweetest of greetings, everuone we meet tastes defeat. We smoke until our lungs collapse, until you give out, eyes like two lumps in old milk. And I will cough with you but I'll wake up in the morning to hear that you'd passed in the night, Dreaming about the fight. They let you out just in time to spew out your stomach, your brother left dead in the field. Your wife let the wheel go, because you were lyingg, marines taught you not to feel not to feel not to feel...

Ballad Type 06:17
I never had a chance to be more, be more than I am. I'm combative as a stone. And she was living like a queen, completely free of insecurity, what made her leave her throne? I don't know! I never had a chance to be more, be more than one man, 'cuz I'm better by myself. The things she thought that she could take Boiled up into her big mistakes, well, just count them. She put me under on the table fixed my bleeding heart and closed mind, preoccupations with the time, lacing through my guts Now, our love, it grows like a tree upwards and out, longer than her or me, and always twice as bright, always twice the light. So thank you for the brass heart and black lungs and the hope for rust and dust to settle in and as cartographers, we'll pinpoint the gutters find another home for us to meddle in. The proverbs of you thank you. The proverbs of you, thank you. The proverbs of you thank you. The proverbs of you, thank you.

about

Good Looking Friends formed in Western Massachusetts in 2011, uniting vapid people who have experienced true loss ever since.. Sean and Zach both read a lot of books together, then played a lot of music. Then Brooklyn brought Adam, a psychoanalyst jester and slayer of drums. They are woods people, city people, soundscape people. They've been filling basements with distorted sound since, and don't plan on stopping. For fans of Built to Spill, Strand of Oaks, American Football, Sigur Ros, and Elliott Smith.

Good Looking Friends is touring this summer to support their cassette 'You Won't Die', a soundscape heavy album about the merits of surviving. They love all of their good looking friends. Stop by and get a beer!
